Park Programs
Camp Hosts.
Always wanted to stay in a beautiful State Park for the summer? As a Camp Host you can stay in a modern campsite with full hook-ups. Because of the many varied duties, hosts are usually a couple. Camp Hosts assist campers in locating their campsite, collect camping fees, provide general park information and report inappropriate activity to the park staff.
Park Partner Volunteers.
Volunteers in the Oklahoma park system assist with a variety of projects and play a vital role in the management and maintenance of Oklahoma's State Parks. Volunteers give guided nature walks, help with special events, provide environmental interpretation programs and much more. By becoming a Park Partner, you too can help assure that Oklahoma State Parks will continue to be enjoyed by future generations.
Park Pals.
The mascot of Oklahoma State Parks is the charming raccoon known as Park Pal.
Besides sharing the fun and wonder of state park adventures, he teaches children
the importance of park preservation and conservation through an educational program
and membership club. Tree planting, trail development and maintenance, deer studies
and habitat improvement, trash pick-ups, recycling efforts, and fishing education
– you name it, Park Pal
offers
a broad range of environmental activities for the whole family. The Park Pal Kids'
Club is open to children between the ages of 4 and 16. Membership brings with
it many privileges, including special Park Pal events.
Junior Naturalists.
A variety of park programs are available for both children and adults, offering the chance to participate in year-round educational and environmental activities. The Junior Naturalist program is designed especially for children ages 9-14 who want to learn more about our environment. Featuring hands-on interpretive lessons under the guidance of a certified naturalist, children receive an official Junior Naturalist patch upon completion of the program.
